About StephenStephen J. Burton is a writer, producer, director, and film educator with a passion for creating stories that inspire, challenge, and point audiences toward hope.Over the past two decades, Stephen has written, directed, and produced award-winning films, television projects, and educational programs. His directing and producing credits include the short films Mercy & Grace, Heart Matters, and Man on the Street, and he served as Head Writer and Director of the PBS children's series Jr. Lab Ratz, recipient of a TELLY Award.Stephen has studied screenwriting, producing, directing, and the business of filmmaking through Act One, New York University School of Professional Studies (NYU SPS), UCLA Extension, Georgia Film Academy, and professional training through Trilith Studios. His work combines formal industry training with years of hands-on production experience, creative leadership, and mentorship.As the founder of The Film Academy and the Eagle Wings Student Christian Film Festival, Stephen mentored more than 500 student filmmakers and executive produced over 800 student short films accepted into the festival. Under his leadership, students produced hundreds of original films while developing their creative, technical, and storytelling skills.
